A teenage boy was taken to hospital after a Victorian man hit the pedestrian with his car on the Gold Coast.
Police said the car was on Ferny Avenue when the driver hit the pedestrian at the intersection with Cavill Avenue about 9.15pm on Friday in Surfers Paradise.
The 16-year-old Gold Coast boy was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the car returned a positive breath test and was taken to Surfers Paradise Police Station for further testing.
The 79-year-old Victorian man was served with a notice to appear for middle range drink driving after returning a breath alcohol concentration of 0.117 percent.
He will appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on March 20.
