Man faces court charged with raping two women in Melbourne CBD

A man has faced court charged with raping two women on the same night at a King Street bar.

Tuncer Salih, 42, from Hampton Park faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court briefly on Saturday morning after he was charged on Friday night.

Police allege Mr Salih raped two women on February 2 and also accused him of assaulting and unlawfully imprisoning them on the same night.

Mr Salih sat still with his arms crossed in the court wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans with a short black beard and black hair. He did not speak.

Mr Salih’s lawyer told Magistrate Ross Betts that he required medication for mental health problems while in jail.

He did not apply for bail and will re-appear for a filing hearing on February 15th.
