Police are investigating a deliberately lit scrub fire that came close to the entrance of the Boorna Waanginy lights show in Kings Park.
The fire began at 5.20am on Sunday near the tennis courts in May Drive, a short walk from where the feature begins.
Firefighters attended and were able to contain the fire quickly before it caused any damage, but it still burned through about 200 square metres of the park.
No structures were damaged during the blaze.
