It’s claimed Juric, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been omitted for «sporting and strategic reasons», not for anything behaviour-related.
«Juric has been struggling since last summer, I felt he was not 100 per cent present,» sporting director Remo Meyer told the Luzerner Zeitung.
«Juric should be free to negotiate with other clubs.»
The decision caps a horror couple of months for Juric, who was overlooked by Australia coach Graham Arnold when the Socceroos’ Asian Cup squad was announced in December.
When injury ruled out Martin Boyle in the build-up to the tournament in January, Arnold opted to again overlook Juric and named Cyprus-based Apostolos Giannou instead.
Several options exist as possible destinations for Juric.
Clubs in several countries including Croatia, Russia and Poland in Europe as well as China and Korea in Asia have active transfer windows.
The Swiss transfer window closes on Friday.
